SCHOLARSHIP
The Thomas A Ellis Memorial Scholarship Banquet was founded February 8, 2014, by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Chi Sigma Chapter and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Zeta Phi Zeta Chapter, both of Alexandria, Louisiana in honor of their Sigma Brother Thomas A. Ellis. The Thomas A Ellis scholarship was established to seek and honor outstanding high school seniors planning to attend college. These students must have at least a 2.5 GPA, competitive ACT score, and submit an essay for review. Since its inception in 2014, the Thomas A. Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $30,000.00 in scholarships and book awards.
SERVICE
Z-HOPE, or Zetas Helping Other People Excel, is an interactive holistic multidimensional outreach program designed to enhance, cultivate and empower participants to develop health-promoting lifestyle choices across the lifespan. Z-HOPE is specific to the population groups; Women, Youth, Seniors, Men, and International Women of Color. Each year the Zeta Phi Zeta Chapter hosts Z-HOPE events in conjunction with local schools, churches and community organizations. Our goal is to positively impact as may underserved populations and bring awareness to social, health and wellness issues.
